Modesto Milling Organic Horse Supplement, 25 lb.
This pellet is an organic alternative to the conventional “ration balancer” that supplies the important nutrients that could be low or missing in a diet of only forage or forage and oats. Specifically formulated to have a low recommended feeding rate, when fed with forage it will meet the horse’s needs for protein, vitamins and minerals but add very few additional calories. It can be an excellent addition to a forage only diet or it combines well with organic oats for horses that need more calories than a forage-only diet can supply.
Use: Formulated specifically for horses to add balance to a forage-based diet with the nutrients that might be low or missing. When fed with forage alone or combined with other concentrate ingredients they make balancing the diet simple and easy.
- Feed alone as a low-calorie/low-starch, protein, vitamin and mineral supplement to balance the diet
- Combine with organic oats or any other organic grain to make a balanced organic horse feed
- Combine with organic beet pulp and/or organic alfalfa pellets to make a low-starch horse feed
- Combine with organic oats, organic alfalfa pellets and/or organic beet pulp to make a senior horse feed and serve as a mash if the ability of the horse to chew is diminished.
Feeding directions: The recommended feeding rate for Modesto Milling Organic Supplement Pellet is: 1 lb. per 1100 lb. horse (or 1.5 oz. per 100 lbs. body weight / 1 g per kg body weight) Do not feed more than the recommended feeding rate. Always supply the horse with a minimum of 1.5% body weight in forage daily and clean, fresh water. Free choice salt is recommended.
